A Brief History of MCC
“Celebration of the Goodness of God: A Celebration of a Generation”
Myanmar Christian Church (MCC) began with a handful of people on December 7, 1997; on its 25th anniversary, we have about 400 members.. Pastors Kham and Mary Khai established the church. Victory Christian Church (VCC) helped MCC for about 20 years until it stood independently. In 2016, with the help of God, MCC bought ten Gym-Fitness Center as its church building.
In 2004, a Bible college in Myanmar began as part of our mission project, and about 100 graduated and have served the Lord full-time in different parts of Myanmar as pastors, teachers, and missionaries. MCC also has eight missionary fields. In 2018, ORU signed an Articulation Agreement to accept 99 credit hours from our Bible College, which was renewed in 2021. In 2020, ORU signed an MOU with MCC.
During COVID-19, the church helped the hometown of each family member to over 40 villages with over $10,000. In Tedim, we bought a water tank for the main home (Innpi). We donated $1,000 towards building an Oxygen plant in Kalemyo. We also helped mission workers on a large scale. The Lord spoke to Pastor Khai and said, “Comfort my people,” so he bought two big pigs and distributed the pork to each member’s house for them to cook. Due to Myanmar’s dire situation, MCC started Forerunner Mission Training online at the beginning of 2022 and had our first graduation on December 3, 2022, under Tulsa International College.
The soccer tournament becomes a vehicle of the Gospel with its motto, “For the Game, For the Gospel.” Over 5,000 people attended, and some players and sports fans heard the Gospel for the first time. Annually, Myanmar Americans from all over the US gather together during the tournament to eat ethnic food and fellowship with one another. As the Lord has blessed the church immensely, we will see His great and mighty works for His glory in the future.
